Merry Christmas

Mom had surgery Monday. They found one small tear in the membrane above one of the nerves he repaired it but didn't think that could be causing all the pain. So he did some blood testing and checked for spinal fluid leakage. The fluid was fine. Did you know the ansethiologist can make you cough?!?! Wierd! Her blood test came back funny. Normal was 12 for infection level and hers was 85. They think she may have gotten a staff infection from the original surgery. She got out of the hospital Christmas eve with a pic line. She has to go the the hospital twice a day for 6 weeks for antibiotic treatments. Hopefully this cures the problem. After countless call my Dad and I finally convinced my Mom and stupid sisters to postpone Christmas until Sunday so Mom could get some rest. So yesterday afternoon John ran to the store before they closed and picked up ham for dinner today at home. Abby found a mysterious gift from Santa dropped off at 4pm Christmas eve. She read the letter saying Santa's sleigh was too full so he thought he would drop off one gift for the family tonight. So we opened the Wii. She was so excited. We set it up and started to play. She got really frustrated because she is stubborn and "knows how to do everything" but wasn't getting it. We were then regretting getting it. But she finally caught on today and is the lead in bowling. She bowled a 203 today! We also played Mario Kart today and that is hilarious! We all love that one. She made a haul today. She loves her pink guitar and her MP3 player. She has been walking around with it on all day. Well I am beat. Rhonda and Gregg come tomorrow. Hopefully everything is ready. I am going to bed! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Week from HELL!

We got over 10 inches of snow Thursday night/Friday. We have beyond frigid temps. My Grandmothers Christmas was cancelled due to white out conditions and my Mom was taken to the hospital by ambulance! My Mom had back surgery shortly before Thanksgiving. They had to fuse part of her lower back together. They told her recovery would be about 6 months. My Mom is not one to lay still so I am sure she has not followed all of the doctors instructions. She seemed to be doing ok until she started to get this pain down her leg. She thought she had over done it with Christmas shopping. So she tried to take it easy and then Friday night she couldn't even walk the pain was so bad. Dad called the ambulance. She was taken to the hospital and did an MRI. They thought spinal fluid had leaked or she had an infection. If it was infection she would have to have surgery and they would have to scrape the infection off. UGH! They first tried by using a needle to remove some of the spinal fluid. They would then test the spinal fluid for bacteria. So Saturday they did that. By Saturday evening she was feeling no difference. Sunday she got the test results back that there was no bacteria in the spinal fluid. So now she is going back into surgery tomorrow to find out what is going on. So I am going to try to get off work early tomorrow to run and see her. She told the DR she didn't care what he did as long as she was home for Christmas. DR told her that she shouldn't count on that. My Mom is a Chrismas fanatic, as you know! We are suppose to go there Christmas day. So now I have no idea what is going on and I LIVE by a plan! We were not able to go over to see her all weekend due to the white out. UGH! I HATE WINTER! Friday Rhonda and Gregg are coming and staying until Sunday. We have Christmas here on Saturday. I feel I have 10,000 things left to do and I am running out of time. All the presents are wrapped and everything is decorated. Groceries are bought so I am sure we will survive but the house is not perfect. I know no body will care if they find a crumb on the carpet or that not all trash containers are not completely empty but I do! Plus AF is starting and I don't have time for her either! BAH HUMBUG!

I hate winter!

I know it is only beginning but boy I hate this. We currently have a windchill of 23 BELOW zero! We have 49mph wind gusts with snow. All week is suppose to be cold and miserable. I need to move where it is 70 all year round!

Yesterday Abby had cheerleading camp. This is her second year and she has so much fun. Plus is gave John and I time to run some errands and finish last minute Christmas shopping. We have all the gifts bought just needed to pick up stocking stuffers and some finishing touches. After her performance we drove to a nearby town that has Santaland. We met Rhonda and Gregg there and had supper and then went through Santaland and stopped to see Santa. This is the first year we have gone up there and I think we will make it a tradition. It was so nice and Abby was enthralled. Then today we got hit with the frigid wind and snow so we are homebound. We are all actually still in our pajamas!

Tuesday is Abby's Christmas concert. Then this weekend we travel to my grandparents for their Christmas.

Here are some pics....
